Teri Yaad Teri yaad first Pakistani film

Teri Yaad is a Pakistani Urdu language film released on Eid on 7 August 1948 in the newly formed state of Pakistan. Starring Naseer Khan and Asha Posley. It was the first film to be released after Pakistan's independence on 14 August 1947. In 1947 India was partitioned and the state of Pakistan was born. During this period, the Indian film industry was separated and the only remaining center of film production in Pakistan was in Lahore. With the industry still in its infancy, it is difficult to work on film production that had started before the split as many of the directors and working actors have left or resided in India.

With great difficulty, the budding film industry managed to release its first feature film, Teri Yaad (1948), on 7 August 1948, which premiered at the Parbhat Theater in Lahore. The film stars Asha Posli and Naseer Khan, brothers of the famous Indian actor Dilip Kumar who used to live in Bombay, India. The soundtrack was written and composed by Inayat Ali Nath. The playback singers are Munawar Sultana, Asha Posley and Ali Bakhsh Zahoor. Produced by Dewan Sardari Lals Dewan Pictures and directed by Daud Chand, the film has endured on celluloid screens in Lahore, Quetta and Dhaka, Pakistan.
