He married Amina Shan and had four daughters named Beheshtparn Shan Shahid, Fatima Shahid, Shah Bano Shahid and Rani Shahid. Chan made his Polish debut in 1990 opposite Reema Khan. Eager to bring change to the film in Pakistan, Shaan introduced himself as a director. He directed his ambitious project Guns and Roses - Ik Junoon, released in 1999. The film was produced by art entrepreneur Tanveer Fatima Rahman. He acted with Faisal Rahman, Meera and Resham. music M. Arshad Cinematography directed by Azhar Barki and written by Parvez Kaleem. In 2000, he starred as Mujhay chand chahiyye, Reema Khan, Muammar Rana, Javed Sheikh and Atiqa Odho. He then directed Musa Khan (2001), starring Saima, Obaid Ali, Jean Rambo and Noor. The film received positive reviews from critics. He signed a three-film deal with actress Juggan Kazim in 2008. A film entitled Chup was in pre-production for several years before being scrapped. The rest is still in pre-production. He is collaborating on his film project with screenwriter Mashal Peerzada and Pakistani television director and screenwriter Sarmad Sultan Khosat.
In 2009, Shaan appeared on the ARY Digital Happenings show and was shown directing a scene from a film starring actress Resham at Haveli's home. In an interview he confirmed that he was making a film, but not much is known about it. In 2012, he announced that he would be directing alongside Juggan Kazim in Thailand a film called Mission Allahu Akbar that hadn't been filmed in several years. In 2013, Sean said that his films were put on hold because he was busy with his ambitious acting projects. Shaan joined Jio TV and hosted a morning show called Jio Shaan Si on Geo News. But he soon left the show to focus on developing his film.
