Shaan Shahid the only superstar of Pakistani cinema - Lollywood

Armaghan Shahid (born April 27, 1971), better known by his stage names Shaan Shahid and Shaan, is a Pakistani actor, producer, model, writer and director. Shaan has established himself as one of Pakistan's most sought-after protagonists. Shaan began his acting career in 1990 with Reema Khan in Javed Fazil's film Bulandi. He has won Pride of Performance Award 1 time, Nigar Award 15 times, Lux Style Award 5 times, Pakistan Media Award 1 time and ARY Film Award in Pakistan. He is considered the highest paid movie star in Pakistan. 
Shaan, better known today as Shan Shahid, was born in Lahore, the son of director Riaz Shahid and stage, film and television actress Neelo. His father was a Muslim while his mother was a Punjabi Christian who converted to Islam. His uncle, Fayyaz Shahid, was a cameraman and producer for PTV in Islamabad. His early education began at the prestigious Aitchison College. His first acting adventure came with Boy Scout fire. He won the best actor award in a play called Alif Noon, playing a comedy character, but never took acting seriously as a career. After Aitchison, he left for New York, United States and joined Newtown High School. Dreaming of being a lawyer, he always thought he had the talent to become one. He stayed in New York for seven years, then returned to Pakistan for a vacation where he took up the family business, Riaz Shahid Films. At the age of 19, he acted in his first film, Bulandi, which was released in 1990.


He married Amina Shan and had four daughters named Beheshtparn Shan Shahid, Fatima Shahid, Shah Bano Shahid and Rani Shahid. Chan made his Polish debut in 1990 opposite Reema Khan. Since then, she has appeared in hundreds of Urdu and Punjabi films. In 2013, Bilal Lashari starred in the blockbuster Ayesha Khan, Shamon Abbasi, Azam Khan, Ali Azmat and Misha Shafi. He was chosen as the best actor by the viewers' choice at the first ARY Film Awards. After some twists and turns, he appeared in Jami's O21 alongside Amina Al Sheikh, Iman Ali, Shimon Abbasi and Ayoub Khoso. Starring Shan and Adnan Siddiqui in 2015, Yalgar, directed and produced by Hassan Waqas, is set to become the most expensive film in Pakistani film history with a budget of around Rs 50 million.


Eager to bring change to the film in Pakistan, Shaan introduced himself as a director. He directed his ambitious project Guns and Roses - Ik Junoon, released in 1999. The film was produced by art entrepreneur Tanveer Fatima Rahman. He acted with Faisal Rahman, Meera and Resham. music M. Arshad Cinematography directed by Azhar Barki and written by Parvez Kaleem. In 2000, he starred as Mujhay chand chahiyye, Reema Khan, Muammar Rana, Javed Sheikh and Atiqa Odho. He then directed Musa Khan (2001), starring Saima, Obaid Ali, Jean Rambo and Noor. The film received positive reviews from critics. He signed a three-film deal with actress Juggan Kazim in 2008. A film entitled Chup was in pre-production for several years before being scrapped. The rest is still in pre-production. He is collaborating on his film project with screenwriter Mashal Peerzada and Pakistani television director and screenwriter Sarmad Sultan Khosat.


 In 2009, Shaan appeared on the ARY Digital Happenings show and was shown directing a scene from a film starring actress Resham at Haveli's home. In an interview he confirmed that he was making a film, but not much is known about it. In 2012, he announced that he would be directing alongside Juggan Kazim in Thailand a film called Mission Allahu Akbar that hadn't been filmed in several years. In 2013, Sean said that his films were put on hold because he was busy with his ambitious acting projects. Shaan joined Jio TV and hosted a morning show called Jio Shaan Si on Geo News. But he soon left the show to focus on developing his film.
